I got some attention on the concept of sledgehammers as a practical implement, so I decided to focus on that today. Lots of squatting and pressing. Some of them are incorporating resistance bands. I’m going to get into that in the next post. All of the sledgehammer work is unilaterally performed (one side at a time) and symmetrically focused (until i buy a second one), so i made a habit of changing the grip up to create greater, more challenging levers like in the overhead shoulder press, the lateral raises, the parade marchers/front raise and the lunges. The hammer is only 12lbs, so volume is high for a workout like this. 40+reps total for each separate movement. I like to do 4x12 or 5x8 depending on what it is.
Now all I have to do is learn how to count. 🤪
I plan on doing more dynamic stuff (tire work) once I can track one down 🔨
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I’m just showing this for fun. #strength #mobility #stability #quarantineworkout #gainsbyanymeansnecessary #sledgehammer #wod #shortshorts
