We’ve all heard that confidence is key, but I’m curious, what’s your definition of confidence?
For so long I though confidence was the LACK of fear, being able to show up fully in your power without any fear at all. I had this story around what confidence looked like and because I didn’t look/act/feel that way I’d tell myself that I wasn’t confident and then obviously my behaviour would support that. I used that as an excuse to not do the scary stuff because I wouldn’t be able to execute it well, I expected myself to be “perfect” from day 1.
I’ve since come to learn that confidence isn’t about HOW you show up but it’s the act of showing up itself, whether the fear is there or not.
It’s trusting that regardless of your experience or skill set, your voice matters and showing up in full trust that it needs to be heard.
So tell me, what does confidence mean to you?
